Willcoxon Manufacturing Co. photographs

Overview This collection consists of images from circa 1960 of the cotton manufacturing mill in Sargent, Georgia, originally named Willcoxon Manufacturing Co. The Coweta County plant was founded in 1866 and changed hands several times over the next century. The complex of mill buildings and the town that grew up around have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Sargent Historic District.

Overview West Georgia College's first radio station, WWGC-FM, began broadcasting in 1973 under the supervision of the College's Director of Instructional Media, Dr. Charles L. Faires. The station continued to grow and expand its programming until ultimately assigning its license to the Georgia Public Telecommunications Commission (GPTC) in 2009. Today, the station runs a simulcast of GPTC programming only. Records from this collection include various legal documents such as radio license applications...
