Biographical/Historical note

The Kiwanis Club was founded in 1915 as an organization of businessmen who wanted to work in and serve their communities. The local chapter of the Kiwanis Club, the Kiwanis Club of Carrollton, was organized on October 23, 1947 by the Newnan Kiwanis Club and was also founded as a service organization by local Carrollton businessmen. The Kiwanis Club of Carrollton is currently a part of Kiwanis International, Georgia District, Division 20.

Provenance

Materials were donated in batches over the years including 2009, 2013, and 2014 by Kiwanis Club of Carrollton presidents and historians. The original donation date is unknown. Scrapbooks #10, 11, 12 were donated on December 5, 2019 and Scrapbooks #13 and 14 were donated on December 2, 2019 by club member Neil Weathington.
