 Collection
Identifier: UA-0005-0901

Scope and Content

The Commencement programs collection includes programs from 1936 to present day for West Georgia College, the State University of West Georgia, and the University of West Georgia. Materials reflect the graduating classes of two year degrees from West Georgia College up until it began to offer a four year degree program in 1957.

Prior to 1960, summer commencements did not have an official program. A brief change was seen for the summer commencement of 1960, but it was not until 1967 that summer ceremonies would have official commencement programs.
