Scope and Contents
This collection contains one scrapbook that includes events, programs, brochures, newspaper clippings, and photographs. In addition to the scrapbook, the collection contains brochures, yearbooks, convention events, membership lists, minutes, policies and procedures, by-laws, a history of the southeastern AAUW, a cassette tape of historical highlights, annual reports, information on events hosted by AAUW, accounting ledgers, yearly budgets, newsletters, and records of the disbandment of the West Georgia branch of the AAUW.

Biographical / Historical
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) was established in 1881 by Marion Talbot and Ellen Richards along with 15 other alumnae representing eight colleges. The mission of AAUW is to empower women as individuals and as a community on educational, social, economic, and political issues. Records indicate that the West Georgia College AAUW chapter was in existence from 1980 to 1989.
