Scope and Contents note
The Quill contained creative writing, short stories, poetry, and essays selected from the winning and short-listed entries of the publication’s writing contests. The pieces were frequently paired with illustrations. Beginning with the 1951 edition, the publication expanded its scope to include entries other than those submitted to its writing contests.

The Quill was established in 1948 as a publication featuring creative writing and essays from students and faculty of West Georgia College. It was a publication of the West Georgia College Press Forum and evolved out of the organization’s former publication, GenPen.
