Biographical/Historical note
The Georgia University Board of Regents authorized West Georgia College to offer Master's level graduate programs in 1967. The name of the university was changed to the State University of West Georgia on June 12, 1996.
In 1996, West Georgia College offered eight Master's degree programs in 36 areas of study.
