Stanley Parkman (1916-2007) moved to Carroll County, GA with his family in 1945 from Marianna, Florida. His business, Carroll Publishing Co., was sold to Harte-Hanks Communications of San Antonio, Texas in 1980, and the paper became a daily publication. The paper was purchased by Worrell Enterprises in 1987 and sold to current owner Paxton Media Group of Paducah, Kentucky in 1995. Parkman retired as publisher of the Times-Georgian in 1986 but still maintained an office at the newspapers and wrote a column for the Sunday edition.
