Biographical / Historical
The Mount Zion Optimist Club was chartered on September 24, 1991, with 33 members. Its charter was sponsored by the Carrollton Optimist Club. The first president was Charles Jetmore. As with all Optimist Clubs associated with Optimist International, the Mount Zion Optimist Club committed its main purpose to service to the youth of the community, and, in particular, the youth of Mount Zion schools and the Mount Zion School district.
The Mount Zion Optimist Club disbanded on September 30, 2008 [Jamie McNiff, Membership and Club Support Administrator, Optimist International, St. Louis, Missouri, 2024 (October 16)].
