Scope and Contents
These President's Office records, dating from 1978-2022, encompass primarily the tenure of Presidents Dr. Beheruz Sethna (1994-2013) and Dr. Kyle Marrero (2013-2019), with older files dating to Dr. Maurice K. Townsend's (1975-1994) presidency and some newer files falling within the early years of Dr. Brendan B. Kelly (2020-present). This collection includes annual reports, architectural plans, audit documents, banners, budget documents, construction plans, general topic files, institutional research, legal files, master plans, memoranda, official correspondence, political files, presentations, printed emails, progress reports, university system files, and yearly presidential and college reports. Subjects covered include institutional research and planning, state political figures, court cases and grievances, master plans, internal audits, buildings and dormitories on campus, university system files (Board of Regents, specific chancellors, enrollment reports, fiscal affairs, etc.) and project briefings and floorplans for construction and renovation on campus.
A small portion of these records is in Chinese and Japanese relating to presidential trips. A small number of documents is in French.

Biographical / Historical
The bulk of materials in this collection were generated during Dr. Beheruz Sethna's (1994-2013) and Dr. Kyle Marrero's (2013-2019) tenures as President, but also reflect some of the work dated to Dr. Maurice K. Townsend’s (1975-1994) and Dr. Brendan B. Kelly's (2020-present) presidencies. The president’s division is made up of the following departments, as of 2023: Internal Audit, Legal Affairs, Public Service and Outreach, University Athletics, and University Police.
Also included in the department, under Vice Presidents are the following five departments: Academic Affairs, Administrative Services, Business and Financial Services, Student Affairs, STrategic Enrollment Management. The Office of the Ombuds reports to the President but is not a part of the administration.
The files in this collection relate to these departments, as well as campus buildings.

Original order was maintained. Loose materials added the end of Box 12.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Materials were transferred from the President’s Office on August 3, 2023.
Separated Materials
Two boxes, approximately 0.84 linear feet, of files that were titled with Kyle Marrero's name, which contained Dr. Kyle Marrero's presidential files, were separated and added to the Kyle Marrero papers.
Files that were not titled with his name, but covered his presidential years, are retained in this collection.
