The first object in this collection was donated by an Ingo Swann fellow, Elizabeth Bergen-Bartel, during her time doing research at the University of West Georgia. The object is a shinai [bamboo teaching sword] from Japan, purchased and used by Bergen-Bartel during her Kendo training.
