Biographical / Historical

The Association of Retired Faculty and Staff (ARFS) at the University of West Georgia (UWG) was organized in 2004. The goal of ARFS is to create a space in which all retired faculty and staff feel welcomed by and re-connected to UWG and their fellow retirees. Each year, ARFS hosts a Retired Faculty/Staff Reunion, in which the retirees during the year are honored with a tribute booklet and a commemorative medallion. Within each tribute booklet, individual honorees have a page with a statement written by a fellow faculty or staff member, a photograph made in the University Communications and Marketing studio, and a statement on their hobbies and plans for retirement. Several times a year, ARFS publishes a newsletter titled, The Rejuvenator that keeps retirees connected to University activities and other news, happenings and activities.
