Biographical / Historical

The Faculty Senate is the primary means through which faculty participate in the shared governance process at the University of West Georgia. Through its various committees, faculty senators and representatives from all Colleges, Tanner Health System School of Nursing, and Ingram Library advise the administration on issues of concern.

This collection contains the President's response to the Faculty Senate and its various subcommittees between the years of 1970 to 2017. During this time, five Presidents served West Georgia College, the State University of West Georgia, and the University of West Georgia including: Dr. James E. Boyd (1961-1971), Dr. Ward Pafford (1972-1975), Dr. Maurice K. Townsend (1975-1994), Dr. Beheruz Sethna (1994-2013), and Dr. Kyle Marrero (2013-2019).
