Biographical / Historical
Lucille S. Townsend was born February 5, 1930 in Attleboro, MA. She obtained her B.A. in Political Science from Mary Washington College in 1950, her M.A. in Political Science and Public Administration from the University of Tennessee in 1952, and her M.,B.A from West Georgia College in 1987. Her husband was Dr. Maurice Townsend, 5th president of the University of West Georgia.
