This collection contains brochures, histories, informational guides, pamphlets, publications, and reports associated with the West Georgia region.

A bulk of the materials are photocopies. Individual files vary in content and size. Some materials were donated at an unknown time, prior to 2012. Property warrants for Carroll, Coweta, Dade, and Heard County, and Atlanta Stock Land map were grouped together but the association between the items is unknown.

Biographical/Historical note

Ingram Library’s Special Collections began to assemble subject files (originally called “vertical files”) for ease of researchers. The original vertical files also contained biographical files which have been separated into another collection. The subject files became a distinct collection in 2015.

This collection also originally contained files pertaining to the institution and history of the University of West Georgia. In 2019, those materials were separated out into a distinct collection titled, "University of West Georgia, Subject files."
