Contained in this series are some of the more significant issues for those in the Rome area included the controversy over the Memphis-Atlanta Highway, which still has not been built, the differing opinions on President Clinton’s impeachment and Barr’s role in it, the redrawing of Barr’s district for the 2002 election (which pitted him against another Republican incumbent, John Linder), the difficulties of securing a Junior ROTC program in Chattooga County, Coosa River discussions including Mayo’s Lock and Bar Dam, and the Congressional Art Competition, which appears to have been run out of the Rome office.
