Teaching, research files, and personal activities files of former University of West Georgia history professor. Formats include photographs and slides, video recordings, postcards, audiocassette tapes, newspapers, and other materials.

Robert H. Claxton's papers reflect his various political and environmental activities. Boxes 1-4 and 7-10 cover Newt Gingrich's political campaigns from 1974-1980. Boxes 20-29 contain the manuscript and background materials for his 1985 book The History of the Georgia Conservancy, 1967-1981. Other topics include Latin American Studies, international education, environmental studies, and the Kiwanis Club.
